Call Management Star Codes
Pickup
Call pickup is a helpful feature in any scenario similar to this: two secretaries are sharing the same office and each of them has a MeloTel Phone Terminal extension. Their user accounts, which belong to the same organization account, have the User is multi user aware permission enabled. Assuming that one of the secretaries is out of office and her phone is ringing, MeloTel allows the other secretary to pick up any call ringing her colleague's extension.
Phone Code | Operation |
---|---|
*21 | To pick up any call ringing the organization. If your phone terminal extension has the User is multi user aware option enabled, you can pick up any call ringing the extensions that belong to the same organization account as you. Dial *21 on your phone keypad and you will be able to pick up the first call in the list of calls ringing the organization account. |
*21TARGET_NUMBER | To pick up a call from any extension. If there are several calls ringing your organization account and you want to pick up the call on a specific extension, you must dial *21 followed by the number of the target extension. |
*21PARTIAL_NUMBER | To pick up a call ringing a specific extension. To pick up the call ringing on a certain extension, you do not have to specify the entire number of the target extension. If you dial *21 followed by the first few digits of the number (partial_number), VoipNow will pick up the call on the first extension with the number matching partial_number. Suppose two calls are ringing extensions 001*211 and 001*222 at the same time, to pick up the call on 001*222, you can dial *2122 (instead of *21222). |
*29 | To pick up last call ringing. If your phone terminal extension has the User is multi user aware enabled, you can pick up any call ringing the extensions that belong to the same organization account as you. Dial *29 on your phone keypad and you will be able to pick up the last call in the list of calls ringing the organization account. |
*29TARGET_NUMBER | To pick up last call ringing for the target extension. If there are several calls ringing your organization account and you want to pick up the last call on a specific extension, you must dial *29 followed by the number of the target extension. Suppose several calls are ringing on extensions 001*004 and 001*005 at the same time, to pick up the last call on 001*004, you must dial *29004. |
*29PARTIAL_NUMBER | To pick up last matching call. To pick up the last call ringing on a certain extension, you do not have to specify the entire number of the target extension. If you dial *29 followed by the first few digits of the number (partial_number), VoipNow will pick up the last call on the first extension with the number matching partial_number. Suppose several calls are ringing extensions 001*211 and 001*222 at the same time, to pick up the call on 001*222, you can dial *2922 (instead of *29222). |
*66 | To dial back the last missed call. |
Parking
You can share calls between users on the same Organization account.
Let's assume there are two users on the same organization account. One belongs to a secretary and the other to her boss. All calls ring the secretary's extension and the secretary puts through to her boss only the most important calls. If the boss happens to be busy, she can have such calls transferred to a parking lot. All she needs to do is call her boss and let him know the place of the call within the parking lot. The parking lot will keep the calls on hold until the boss is able to take them (i.e. unpark them).
Phone Code | Operation |
---|---|
#2 | To send an answered call to the parking lot. The system announces the position of the call in the parking lot. This is good to know if you want to unpark the call and you have several calls in the parking lot. |
*221 | To unpark the first call found in the parking lot. |
*225 | To unpark a specific call among several others in the parking lot. If you don't know the position of the call in the parking lot, dial For example:
|
*229 | To unpark the last call in the parking lot. |
Transfer
With the Transfer Calls function users can easily transfer calls to other user using the phone keypad.
Phone Code | Operation |
---|---|
#1FORWARD_NUMBER | To transfer the interlocutor to another extension. This operation enables what is generally known as blind/cold transfer. In other words, if you're already in the middle of a phone conversation, you can press #1 followed by an extension number forward_number. This will have your incoming caller transferred to that particular extension. The call can also be transferred to a number outside the MeloTel server. |
*2FORWARD_NUMBER | To put the caller on hold and transfer the call to another extension. This operation enables what is generally known as attended/warm transfer. In other words, if you're already in the middle of a phone conversation, you can press |
CallerID
The CallerID can be hidden for outgoing calls using the phone's keypad.
Phone Code | Operation |
---|---|
*85 | To place calls anonymously. Activate the Anonymous feature for outgoing calls of a Phone Terminal extension by dialing *85. |
*65 | To deactivate the 'unknown caller' function. To deactivate it and stop placing calls as Anonymous, you need to dial *65. |
