Importing Contacts

You have the ability to manually add and import contacts into the system via a .CSV file upload. If you already have a list on permission-based contacts maintained somewhere and would like to upload these contacts in 1 fell swoop without adding them 1 by 1, you can do that with our bulk import feature.
This utility is ONLY to be used when migrating over a list from another SMS marketing provider’s service or gathered from a website which clearly states why you are collecting phone numbers. In other words, these people have already given permission to you to be marketed to and are 100% opt-in. This utility is NOT to be used for anything else such as any purchased list and any 3rd party list.
To import contacts, follow the steps given below.

1. Navigate to Contacts >Import Contacts.
   The Contacts page will be displayed.

2. Click Choose File button to upload contacts.
   The standard Open dialog will be displayed.

3. Select the file you wish to upload and click Open.
   Note: Upload CSV file only - names in 1st column, phone # in 2nd.
   Note: NO spaces, dashes, or parentheses in phone numbers.
   Include country code in the number
   US Example: 12025248725
   UK Example: 447481340516
   If the file you are importing does NOT have names, but only numbers, your csv file should leave the first row empty and your numbers should be in the second row.
   The selected CSV file will be uploaded.

4. Specify whether this CSV file contains headers or not by checking or un-checking the box in the Yes, This File Contains Headers field. Example: if the first row in your csv file contains a header for name in the first column and number in second column, then check this box. If there are no headers, and the 1st row contains an actual name and number, then leave box unchecked.

5. Specify whether these imported contact are 100% opt-in or not by checking or un-checking the box in the Yes, These Imported Contacts Are 100% Opt-Infield.
   Note: These contacts must be 100% opt-in and have already given permission to you to receive SMS notifications. This import utility is intended to be used when migrating over your list of opt-in contacts from another service or collected from your website which clearly states why you are collecting phone numbers. If importing contacts that are NOT opt-in, your account with us will be banned.

6. Click Next.
   The Group Name list will be displayed.

    

7. Select the required group name from the Group Name list. This will import all contacts in the csv file into this group.

8. Select which column header contains the Names in the csv file.

9. Select which column header contains the Phone Numbers in the csv file.

10. Click Next.

The contacts list will be uploaded and displayed on the Contacts page.
